About PLE
PLE – Plant Location Europe has been created in 2007 as a strategic partnership for the development of commercial and residential rail estate at public transport terminals and also company parks and free trade zones at multimodal priority transport corridors.
The company has currently one project in Kaunas Lithuania: the Free economic zone of Kaunas. This free trade zone of more then 500 ha is situated at a major intersection of the EU multimodal priority transport corridors I (Warsaw-Helsinki) and IX (Klaipeda/Kaliningrad-Minsk-
Kiev-Odessa). The project has been acquired after the winning of an international tender by the Belgian consortium including the Port of Antwerp and the Belgian National Railways.
Founder of Plant Location Europe Freddy OPSOMER, a Master of real estate from the University of Antwerp Management school (UAMS) has been acting during more than 5 years as the commercial director of Euro Immo Star NV a property development company belonging to the Belgian national railways.
Since 2007 he brought a strategic group of investors and innovation partners together with the goal to develop real estate at public transport nodes.
Amongst the investment partners figure Freshwater Group of companies, a leading developer in the UK and USA with assets exceeding ₤ 1 billion; the Fordgate Group founded by Moises and Mendi GERTNER whose real estate portfolio is valued higher then 1,2 Bn ₤ and Jacob SCHIMMEL a reference investor in IBD Holding Corporation the leading Israelian holding company.
PLE will include on a contract base the specific expertise of the Belgian National Railwaygroup and its specialised companies: TUCRAIL, Eurostation and Euroliège.
